3rd Annual Style Bias Fashion Show Recap

Last night. we hosted over 400 guests for our 3rd Annual Style Bias Fashion Show in the Skyline Loft at the Bridgeport Art Center.

Presentations were given by established brands including House of LeRenn, Albert Ray and Leaders 1354. The show will also featured presentations from PROjectUS designers who range in age from 14 – 24 years old. The emerging designers participated in the free program that teaches entrepreneurship, design, collaboration skills, and portfolio development. Chicago-based brand Sir & Madame partnered with the program to offer mentorship, design challenges and more in the Spring and Summer of 2016.

All of the following brands gave runway presentations (in no particular order):  Jaelen Isis, Petite, Aqua Vitae, IDEA Brand, Dxstrxct 7, Lonely Dragon, OLD ℅ of Daniel Ponce, Alex Swain, Kim Product, House of LeRenn, Aqraba, Runako Clothing, CRWN, Albert Ray, Thief. Thief. Thief., Kites and LEADERS 1354.        

In addition to the runway presentations, the evening featured a marketplace, where attendees could purchase runway looks and other apparel and accessories from Chicago’s talented designers. There was also a photobooth.

PROject US hosted a model call where over 140 models applied to participate. We also hosted a Model Clinic to help prepare the models for the Fashion Show & Runway experience. Over 50 models walked the runway during the Fashion Show. Style Bias is sponsored by the Hive Chicago Fund for Connected Learning at the Chicago Community Trust.

PROjectUS is an initiative for young adults between the ages of 13 – 23 designed to build fashion design, music production and new media journalism skills. Adding value to the skills learned by curating artifacts created & knowledge gained in a comprehensive portfolio, making that portfolio actionable with industry-centered special opportunities.
